we've just learned this today.
this is really a bummer. i love watching Asashoryu in his bouts but his ritual before each bout is what i'll miss even more (the way he bites his lower lip and makes his small chinky eyes even smaller then he'd slap his right hand to his right side).
wooow, the fire and the character that he brings to the game is simply awesome. they say that he's a bad character out of the game but i think that should not be included when you're judging him as a sumo player. come on, why did he become a yokozuna after all. he's one of the greatest sumo fighters for me. hands down to you Asa!
well now, Hakuho is the only reigning yokuzuna. he's really good but he's vibe is just too goody-goody. it somehow bores me as a fan of the sport. thrown in some spunk dude cause you're really good. pondering on it, maybe technically and physically better than Asa.
anyway, here is Asa's farewell press conference:
I am a big fan of Asashoryu, not because my daughter looked like him when she was a baby LOL!
ReplyDeleteI remember I would run like mad with Pristine from the daycare center just to catch the last Yokuzuna match on TV.
So sad to see him go.
